Germany qualified for the quarter-finals of a major tournament for the first time since the 2016 European Championship. This sums up how horrible the almighty Germany has been in the last 8 years.

The return of Toni Kroos has been very crucial as he has helped Germany find their rythm. His partnership with Bayer Leverkusen’s Andrich is so sensational. The two understand their roles and they have not been dominated by anyone yet.

Denmark on the other hand was so good after they were able to withstand the early threat posed by Germany.

Christian Eriksen was the man who was pulling all the strings for the Danes. The veteran midfielder was making life a bit difficult for Germany.

Due to a heavy storm, the game was stopped by English Referee Micheal Oliver. The players were sent to the dressing room for more than 15 minutes.

The tempo didn’t change when they return with Germany continuing their attack.

The game ended goalless draw in the first half after not so many chances were created and squandered.

Kai Havertz kept his cool and converted a spot kick for Germany early in the second half after Micheal Oliver had awarded a hand ball against Andersen.

Julian Naggelsman celebrated with passion after Jemal Musiala Kept his composure to double Germany’s lead.

It was a sumptuous pass from the Dortmund centre back Nico Schlotterbeck whose long pass found Musiala with only the one-paced Danish defenders.

He outpaced and neatly curled the ball into the tight bottom corner of the post.

The second goal rounded up the night for Naggelsman’s team. Germany will fancy their chances to lift the trophy now because they have the backing of the numerous home fans.

Germany will meet the winner of Spain and Georgia in the quarter-finals.
