National Sports Authority’s Deputy Director, Majeed Bawa, has revealed that the Black Stars should stop complaining about the Baba Yara pitch because Angola also played on the same pitch.

“Are they suggesting that the Angolans played in the sky? They all played on the same pitch,” Bawa Majeed said.

The insults from Ghanaian authorities is the reason why the young ones think it’s very okay to use any words on anyone.

Thomas Party begged vice president Mahamudu Bawumia for better facilities for football. A whole captain making such request was so disgraceful to every Ghanaian leader.

Ghanaians, teams that have visited Baba Yara and CAF as an institution have all complained bitterly about the state of the pitch in Kumasi.

Zamalek when they qualified for the semi-final tie of the 2023-24 CAF Confederation Cup against Dreams FC did not talk about the threat the Still Believe was going to give but rather the pitch they were going to play on. It was very shameful to those who are in charge of the venue.

Angola’s head coach, Pedro Goncalves in his post match conference told the press, “A country like Ghana deserves a better pitch”. Ghana indeed needs a better pitch because quality pitch is the basic requirement to play for football.

Otto Addo partly blamed the defeat on the horrible state of the pitch. He cannot be wrong in anyway as keeping possession and passing precisely all depend on proper pitches.

Majeed Bawa’s comments can not in anyway be tolerated as his office has failed woefully to listen to the voices of many Ghanaians regarding the maintenace of our venues.
