After three decades of unmatched services in maintaining peace in Ghana and assisting in peacekeeping missions via the United Nations and African Union, veteran soldiers are set to be released by the Ghana Armed Forces.

The Ghana Armed Forces have announced the plans to release soldiers who have completed their authorised services per their regulations.

A statement communicated by the GAF read, “The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) wishes to formally announce to the general public that it will resume general releases of Soldiers who have completed their authorised years of service following GAF regulations”.

“Consequently, the first batch of the general releases after the five-year suspension will commence in May 2025, with soldiers enlisted in 1995 and 1996 the first to be released.

The exercise will continue later this year with more personnel expected to be released..

Ghana Armed Forces’ tribute to the soldiers is set to be released!

“Their commitment to duty, often under very challenging conditions, has been instrumental in safeguarding the sovereignty and stability of our beloved country,” the statement noted. “On the international front, these gallant men and women contributed immensely to global peace and security.”
