The Ghana Health Service has confirmed the outbreak of seasonal influenza(flu) in four regions of the country, namely, Greater Accra, Central, Bono and Eastern regions.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday, October 15, 2025, and signed by the acting director-general of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Samuel Kaba Akoriyea.

According to the Ghana Health Service, the symptoms of the flu include a sudden onset of fever, sore throat, cough, headache, runny nose, body aches, fatigue, and the spread is mainly through respiratory droplets from an infected person during coughing, sneezing, or talking and by touching contaminated surfaces.
