The Timber Giants defied all odds and the Ghana Premier League after putting up Grade A performances throughout the season.

Their favourite Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samaraboi did the magic as they won 16 and lost just once at home in 17 games played.

The success story of Samartex deserves huge praise as they did it grandly.

The Samraboi-based club after scintillatingly winning the 2023-24 GPL title is receiving $33,000 which is equivalent to 500,000 cedis as the prize money.

It is an increase on the GH₵300,000 that was paid to 2022/2023 champions Medeama.

Ghana football is in a huge mess because it makes no sense for a winner of a league to go home with just $33,000. After all, it cannot pay even the manager’s annual salary.
