The first game of the year will be played on Wednesday afternoon when Medeama at the Tarkwa TNA Park entertain Karela in one of the home teams’ outstanding games. Medeama has played 13 games instead of the 15 and will have the opportunity to clinch three points to close the gap on leaders Heart of Lions who are 9 points clear ahead of the 2022-23 champions. The fixture was supposed to be played in week 14 but was postponed due to Ghana’s fixture against Nigeria in the 2025 CHAN qualifiers.
Round 16 will commence on Friday night at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium when Accra Hearts of Oak will welcome the lowly Legon Cities.
Bibianai Gold Stars will have the opportunity to return to winning ways on Saturday when they face the unpredictable Berekum Chelsea at Dun’s Park.
The seven other games will be played on Sunday with league leaders Heart of Lions travelling to Bechem United. Certainly, it is the biggest fixture of the weekend because Bechem United has won their last five games whilst Heart of Lions has also won their last four games.
The red-hot Asante Kotoko will face Medeama in Tarkwa. Nations at the DR Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese will welcome Basake Holy Stars. Struggling sides Accra Lions will host Dreams FC in a fixture that is already a relegation six-pointer.
