Preview

Hearts of Oak will start Round 19 of the GPL with a home fixture against Dreams FC. Phobia recorded a super 1-0 win thanks to Mawuli Wayo’s strike when they visited Hohoe United on round 18 and will want to continue the wonderful form. The visit of the Still Believe promises to be a cagey affair as they travel to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on a backdrop of back-to-back wins against Heart of Lions and Basake Holy Stars, where they scored five goals and conceded none in those two games.

Vision FC on Saturday will welcome league leaders Medeama SC to Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema. Vision are unbeaten in the last three games, while Medeama are unbeaten in the last 15 Premier League games.

Defending league champions Bibiani Gold Stars will host Asante Kotoko at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani. Abdul-Karim Zito’s Porcupine Warriors must avoid defeat at all costs to keep in touch with the leaders. Besides, the former Dreams FC head coach is under pressure, and results must improve to buy much time to remain at post

On Sunday, Berekum Chelsea, who drew goalless at Kumasi against Kotoko last Sunday, will host Sweduru All Blacks. Head coach Samuel Boadu was red-carded in the visit to Kotoko and will miss Chelsea’s crucial game against All Blacks from Sweduru.

Wounded Heart of Lions have the opportunity to return to winning ways after being winless in their last eight games. Heart of Lions will welcome the beleaguered Eleven Wonders, who recorded their first win against Holy Stars after five successive defeats. Eleven Wonders are 11 points behind 15th-place Holy Stars and must start picking up points to enhance survival chances.

Karela, who remains unbeaten at home, will welcome Samartex to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale. Samartex are winless in the nine away games played so far.

Wenchi Park will expect a victory when Young Apostles host Hohoe United. Young Apostles are winless in their last four games, while Hohoe United are yet to record a win in their last five, losing four and drawing one, making the game a potential relegation six-pointer fixture.

Nations FC at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese welcomes Aduana Stars in a game that promises fireworks. Nations FC’s over-reliance on home performances must double its efforts to stand a chance of winning all three points. Aduana Stars have won 11 out of the last 18 away points, making them one of the most improved teams when it comes to away games in the league.

NB: All games will kick off at 3 pm except Bobiani Gold Stars and Nations Fc’s home games against Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars, respectively.
