With just seven rounds of games to end the season, the Ghana Premier League is at its all-time best as teams are in a tougher competition to battle for the title and relegation as well.

Bibiani Gold Stars’ 2-0 triumph at Bechem United in the midweek has sent them to the top, and they can extend their lead on top of the table with a win over Medeama at Dun’s Park in Bibiani depending on how things pan out in the other games.

Nations FC, in second place, hosts third-place Asante Kotoko at Abrankese in the Ashanti Derby. This game at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex could make a huge change on top of the table as none of the sides can afford to lose this tie. Only three points separate the top three, so the Ashanti Derby is a crucial game.

Hearts of Oak will have the opportunity to return to winning ways against Karela in Accra after the disastrous 2-0 defeat on Wednesday afternoon to Aduana Stars in Dormaa-Ahenkro. A win is all that matters now for Phobia, as Ouattara and his men are under immense pressure to end the season on a higher note.

Giant killers Accra Lions, who destroyed Asante Kotoko in their last game, face the out-of-form Heart of Lions at the Kpando Sports Stadium with Reiner Kraft’s young boys expected to repeat their counter-attacking tricks that disgraced Asante Kotoko. They are still in a relegation battle and must maintain their mid-week performances against the Porcupine Warriors in Kpando.

Dreams FC, who have lost their last two games after consecutively winning five, will welcome Vision as Holy Stars battle Legon Cities.

At the Wenchi Town Park, Young Apostles will lock horns against Samartex SC.
