Pooley’s murder has got everyone talking and expressing their disappointment in how football is run in Ghana.

Former Asante Kotoko chairman, Herbert Mensah has recalled what happened in probably the biggest disaster in football in Africa since the turn of the 21st Century.

“We carry out the remembrance on May 9th (to remember the May 9 Accra Sports Stadium disaster).

“We are very critical when these things occur. The people who are responsible in the system ultimately have to be held to account,” Herbert Mensah told Joy News.

The former chairman of Asante Kotoko witnessed the unforgettable May 9th disaster in 2001 when 126 spectators were killed due to a crash. It became the worst disaster to have ever happened in the history of African football.

Some football grounds across the nation have been witnessing hooliganism, which always reminds many Ghanaians of what happened in 2001.

Herbert Mensah has called for football administrators to be held accountable for whatever will happen in the beautiful game in Ghana.

The biggest Ghana Premier League hyper, Pooley, was killed on Sunday by yet-to-be-identified Nsoatreman fans after he was stabbed five times in his chest. People are calling for the GFA to be dissolved.
