It has been a very huge debate as which of the two tournaments has been extremely exciting and entertaining: AFCON 2023 and Euro 24.

Euro 2024 has produced classic and dull games at the same time with many fans questioning the decline in quality of football.

In the 2023 AFCON, the excitement and level of football was unbelievable with football connoisseurs across the globe praising the tournament hosted by Ivory Coast.

Former Zambia and Ivory Coast AFCON winning head coach, Herve Rehnard has disclosed that AFCON has many potential winners unlike Euros that has only four or five teams that have the capability to win the tournament.

“Euro is no less than the Africa Cup of Nations. In the Euros, from the beginning you know at least four or five teams that can win the trophy, but in Africa, all the teams are capable of winning the trophy,” he said as revealed by bsnsports.com.ng.

“You can be surprised by the results too. Big nations are beaten by the lesser ones.

“For me, AFCON has a lot of fever and it’s so interesting with many shocks. Many people love it,” Herve Rehnard added.

The French tactician has been hugely linked with the vacant head coach role of Nigeria after the departure of George Finidi. Also, the Egyptian media has since on Wednesday been reporting of Herve Rehnard replacing Hossam Hassan who replaced Rui Vitoria after Egypt’s poor AFCON campaign in Ivory Coast.
