Antoine Semenyo continues to steal the attention in the various sports newspapers across the UK. He is the main topic during pre- and post-match conferences of Bournemouth and Manchester City.

The Citizens are now the frontrunners to sign the 25-year-old, talented Ghanaian forward, according to multiple reports in England.

Bournemouth are not willing to lose Semenyo to any other club, even though when his release clause of 60 million pounds is met in the imminent January transfer window, they will have no option but to let him leave.

Ahead of the club’s fixture at Brentford on Saturday, 27th December, Bournemouth’s manager Andoni Iraola revealed how important it will be for the club if the Ghanaian stays.

“You never know what is going to happen,” Iraola said in his press conference for the trip to Brentford on 27 December.

“In the summer, there were a lot of movements. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the winter movements.

“At the end, you sign a contract and understand that both parties are happy when you sign it. But as a coach, I can only tell you I hope we don’t lose him, because he is very important for us.

“I don’t know what is going to happen. I can’t control what’s going to happen.

“Antoine, for me, has been performing very well. Not just the last two games, where he has scored. He has consistently been very good since the beginning. Even when not scoring, he is still valuable to us. At the end, we don’t just demand numbers. It is no secret he is a massive player for us,” Iraola concluded.

Antoine Semenyo has scored eight goals and provided three assists in the Premier League, making him one of the most lethal attackers in the division.

Semenyo has expressed his desire to sign for Manchester City as Bournemouth braces itself for a bid from Pep Guardiola’s side.
