“I was 17 when I played for Ghana’s U17” – Charles Taylor

Age cheating in football in Africa, especially in the West, is something that it will take many, many years before authorities can tackle because there is no proper data to check citizens.

Charles Taylor played for Ghana’s U17, U20 and U23 before progressing to the Black Stars. The former Hearts of Oak forward has been through the ranks of Ghana national teams from bottom to the top and hence understands the system and knows what transpires in Ghana football.

Charles Taylor dared any former Ghanaian footballer to challenge him if he used his original age in his career.

On the Angel FM sports show, the ex-Black Stars player said that the Original under-15-year-old boys can’t play in U15 in Ghana.

“I played in the youth teams of Ghana. I was more than 17 when I was playing for Ghana’s U17. I was 20,” Taylor disclosed.

“All the players that play in the youth national teams for Ghana normally reduce their ages. The least are four or five, no one can argue.

“Those playing in the current U20, the youngest among them originally will be 25, Taylor said. Charles Taylor is known for being very controversial with his analysis, and this revelation certainly is going to draw criticism from Ghanaians.
