Talkin about her past marriage with Warris, Abiba shared her belief that Northern men often stifle their wives’ independence, particularly when it comes to financial success, as they dislike seeing their wives become more prosperous than them.
The actress and producer recounted how her marriage with Waris deteriorated, stating, “He told me he would always choose his family over me,” a sentiment that deeply affected her and contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
She further explained that their child was the one blessing from the marriage but admitted that she felt emotionally detached and unable to return to Waris.
In an emotional interview, Habiba revealed that her son once told friends he had no father, referring to Waris as his uncle.
The couple, who married in 2017, separated after just sixteen months. Habiba, the daughter of Alhaji Sinare—a former MP and Ghana’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia—and the niece of renowned actress Kalsoum Sinare, opened up about the lasting impact of the painful words exchanged during the marriage.
She emphasized how those words, though spoken in anger, still hurting her life today.
