Gospel musician, Great Ampong has allegedly been excommunicated by the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA).

According to a post on the BBC Ghana Facebook page, he SDA church took the decision to excommunicate the musician, popularly known as Great Ampong, for going against some rules and beliefs of the religious group.

According to a communiquè sent to the musician, the SDA Church Headquarters in Ghana says Great Ampong is a ‘stubborn believer’ as he intentionally defies all Sabbatical rules governing the religious body because he thinks he’s famous, therefore, he’s above some rules.

Per the second paragraph of the communiqué, Great Ampong performs at events even on Sabbath days which should be reserved and observed worldwide and kept Holy by members of the SDA church.

Ampong was recently ordained as a reverend minister in the United States of America (USA).

The ordination was done by Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng at his church, Divine Word International Ministries, to appreciate the singer for his contribution to the gospel music ministry.
