CAF made the whole of football fans across Ghana talking about Group F of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers draw. The Group consists of Ghana, Angola, Niger and Sudan been managed by Ghana’s Akwesi Appiah.

Kwesi Appiah has got Sudan playing one of the best football on the continent in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sudan in a middle of war has put everything aside and lead Group B including Senegal, Dr Congo, Togo, South Sudan and Maurtiania to the surprise of everyone. Sudan are unbeaten having won 10 points with two ahead of Senegal who is second.

Akwesi Appiah has had two stints with Black Star as a head coach culminating in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He once was the skipper of Ghana making him a popular figure in Ghanaian football history.

Speaking to 3Sports after the draw, the legendary head coach reveled that he wants Ghana and Sudan to qualify from the Group.

“I’ve always said there is [are] no minnows in football now,” Appiah said. “It is really important that any team you meet, you prepare very well and make sure you have the right team to try and win the day.”

“Personally, I also think and hope Ghana and Sudan qualify in that group. For now, I think that is what I can say and I wish both teams the best,” he added.

Kwesi Appiah wished Ghana and Sudan the best of luck ahead of the Morocco 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
