“Greetings, Ghana Music Awards; we Sent this via mail, but just in case you’ve not seen it. Thank you,” King Paluta wrote on his Facebook wall.

Ghana Music Awards organisers have always been under pressure for snubbing top trending songs. The organisers seem not to live without controversies year after year.

The latest in 2025 is the snub of King Paluta’s hit track Makoma. The 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards announcement has forced some Ghanaian music lovers to express their disappointment with Paluta’s Makoma not getting any nominations for the various categories.

In the email sent to the high office of the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards organisers, Paluta and his camp demanded explanations for why probably the most popular song of 2024 was not considered for anything.

2024 was Paluta’s year as his tracks Aseda and Makoma were played every moment at every gathering with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) using Makoma for their campaigns ahead of the 2024 General Elections.
