Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, one of the earliest and most vocal contenders in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2026 presidential primaries, is set to begin
Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, one of the earliest and most vocal contenders in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2026 presidential primaries, is set to begin a three-day tour of the Volta Region as part of a renewed push to consolidate his grassroots support base.
The former NPP General Secretary, who has built his campaign on the pillars of integrity, unity, and a return to the party’s founding principles, is expected to meet party delegates across nine constituencies between Wednesday, 19th November and Friday, 21st November 2025.
This tour marks another strategic phase in a nationwide outreach programme that Agyepong began shortly after announcing his presidential ambition.
His message, centred on “Leadership with Integrity; Going Back to Our Roots,” seeks to reposition the NPP as a disciplined, people-focused political organization—an argument he consistently reinforces by referencing the vision of the party’s founding leaders and the need to reconnect with grassroots members.
Kwabena Agyepong’s Volta tour begins on Wednesday at Kpando, where he will address delegates from Hohoe, Kpando, Afadjato, North Dayi, and South Dayi at 10:00 a.m.
The engagement is expected to focus on his reform agenda, his long-standing activism within the NPP, and the need to rebuild internal trust ahead of the 2026 elections.
His team has described this leg of the tour as crucial, given the Volta Region’s unique political landscape and the party’s desire to deepen its presence there.
Later that day at 3:30 p.m., Agyepong will meet delegates from four other constituencies—Ho West, Ho Central, Adaklu, and Agotime-Ziope—at the NPP Regional Auditorium in Ho.
These discussions will centre on strengthening party structures, empowering polling station executives, and addressing long-standing concerns about resource allocation and internal fairness.
The tour will continue on Friday, 21st November 2025, when Agyepong heads to Aflao to interact with delegates from Ketu North, Ketu South, Keta, Anlo, and Akatsi North.
These constituencies, historically challenging terrain for the NPP, form a critical part of his plan to demonstrate that his leadership can unify the party across all regions, regardless of political strongholds.
Political observers note that Kwabena Agyepong’s methodical regional engagements reflect a deliberate strategy to position himself as the morally grounded alternative in a competitive presidential race.
His emphasis on ethical governance and grassroots inclusivity has drawn attention within the party, especially among delegates seeking a departure from divisive internal politics.
