Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame Opoku who has hit the ground running since signing for the club in the second transfer window of the season is optimistic the club can win the GPL.

The 25-year-old striker has scored three goals in four games in the league and has raised the expectations of the numerous fans of the club.

In an interview on Asempa FM, the striker told Asante Kotoko fans to dream because the league title is their target.

“Every big club aims to win the Premier League title and that is our aim. We want to win the Premier League at the end of the season and that is our target,” Kwame Poku said.

Asante Kotoko’s hierarchy expects the club to lift the GPL title to honour the patron of the club, Otumfou Osei Tutu II and return to the CAF Champions League.

The Porcupine Warriors defeated Vision FC 4-1 in the final game of the first round at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday. The victory moved the club to third place on the league table with just two points behind league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.

Asante Kotoko will welcome the relegation-threatened Karela United on Sunday in week 18 of the GPL. A win can send them to the top depending on results from other centers.
