2024 can go down as the worst year for Ghana after the Black Stars did not win a single game in the AFCON qualifiers. Angola, Sudan and Niger were the opponents but Ghana failed to beat any of them in all the home and away encounters.
It was so embarrassing during and after the qualifiers. It looks so clear that Ghanaians will only forget about the disappointment when Black Stars qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In the studios of Sporty FM, the former Hearts of Oak and Black Stars winger Laryea Kingston expressed his sadness in Ghana missing out on the Morocco 2025 AFCON.
“I am very disappointed that our beloved country Ghana did not qualify. One of the strongest countries in African football soccer will not be participating in the AFCON in Morocco and that is quite a disappointing moment for me,” Laryea Kingston said.
The draw for the competition was made on Monday in Rabat and everything shows that December 2025 and January 2026 will be an interesting period in North Africa. Morocco has promised to host the best AFCON in history and Ghanaians will be more disappointed when the tournament kicks off.
