As expected, Liverpool has signed a left-back who is considered to be the replacement of Scottish defender Andy Robertson. Kerkez, 21, has been monitored by Liverpool in the last two seasons after joining Bournemouth from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the 2023 summer transfer window.
The left back has shown so many promises which convinced Liverpool to pay 40M pounds for his signature.
“Welcome to the Reds, Milos Kerkez!” Liverpool wrote on their X account.
Kerkez expresses his excitement after joining Liverpool
“I’m really happy, it’s a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I’m just really, really happy and excited.
“After this, I’ll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can’t really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.”
Milos Kerkez is the third signing for Liverpool after completing a deal for Jeremy Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from German side Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvilli, who was signed from Spanish side Valencia, will also join in July.
