Two Algerian boat migrants, Belal Amine and Gabriel Kamali, have been sentenced at Southwark Crown Court for the violent robbery of a luxury watch in Mayfair, London.

The victim, Besart Krasniqi, was taking photographs of his Bentley in the sun alongside his pregnant wife when the group ambushed him.

In a dramatic twist, Krasniqi inadvertently captured images of the men on his phone during the struggle as they targeted him for his high-value timepiece.

During the assault, one man pushed Krasniqi while a second ripped the £65,000 Patek Philippe watch from his wrist.

The victim attempted to chase the trio down Carpenter Street, but he was knocked to the floor by a third accomplice.

The court heard that the perpetrators had specifically been “looking for wealthy individuals to rob” and had sold the designer watch shortly after the attack.

Both men were sentenced for their roles in the planned group attack, with Amine receiving four years and Kamali receiving three years in prison.

Because both arrived in the UK illegally via small boats in 2019 and have no legitimate source of income, the judge informed them they should expect automatic deportation upon completion of their sentences.
