The League Phase of the UEFA Champions League ended on Wednesday night after all the 24 qualified teams were confirmed.
The top 8 teams will resume action in the round 16 stage due to their super performances in the League Phase.
The other 8 teams to join them have to play in the play-off to get the ticket.
The draw for the play-off was conducted on Friday at UEFA’s headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. The draw was led by former Barcelona, Liverpool and Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
Defending champions Real Madrid will resume their rivalry with Manchester City in the biggest fixture of the round. The last two winners of the competition have served the football world classic games in recent years, and this won’t be an exception.
All French affairs will see Brest entertaining PSG. Bayern Munich will meet Scottish champions Celtic.
Italy and Netherlands will do an intense battle for two slots in the round 16 after Feyenoord was drawn against AC Milan, while Juventus will battle PSV Eindhoven.
French side AS Monaco will play against Portuguese side Benfica.
Sporting Lisbon from Portugal will face last season’s runner-up, Dortmund.
