The 26-year-old Ghanaian forward made it clear that he wants to join Manchester City as interest from almost all the big teams across England intensified.

The Bournemouth superstar was destined for greatness after showing many glimpses at a very young age in the English Championship with Bristol City.

Manchester City confirmed on Friday the much-awaited signing of Semenyo from Bournemouth, following an agreement to activate his release clause worth £ 65 million.

Pep Guardiola’s side needed much firepower upfront after heavily relying on Haaland’s goals throughout the season. The Norwegian has scored 20 goals, with Foden having scored seven as the second top scorer for the club in the league. This makes it difficult for Pep’s side to chase Arsenal because their attackers are not scoring much to support the Norwegian’s goals.

Semenyo scored 10 goals and provided three assists for Bournemouth before joining Manchester City, with his final goal coming in the Cherries’ 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Ghanaian will wear number 42 for the club, and he is expecting to play a key role in the club’s bid to win the EPL and the UCL.

Manchester City will pay an astonishing 65 million pounds for the Ghanaian’s signature as he pens a five-and-a-half-year deal.

Semenyo’s delight after signing for Manchester City

“I am so proud to have joined Manchester City. I have watched City over the last decade under Pep Guardiola, and they have been the dominant team in the Premier League as well as achieving amazing things in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup, the Ghanaian said.

Pep Guardiola’s side has dominated English football in the last decade, and it is the main reason why he chose the Citizens/

He continued, “My best football is yet to come, I am sure of that. And City are in a great position – still involved in four competitions. I really feel I can help them have a strong second half of the season.” Semenyo assured Manchester City fans of helping the club win all trophies in the current campaign.

Semenyo expressed his delight at the opportunity to now play in the UEFA Champions League. “As a kid, you always dream of playing in the Champions League. Thank God I’ve got that opportunity now,” he said. Hopefully, we get through to the next phase – it will be a dream of mine to hear the music, to walk out on the pitch and just the little things like playing with the footballs. It’s a dream come true. I’m looking forward to it – I can’t wait.”

The versatile Ghanaian forward will be available in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League because he joined the club only in the January transfer window.

Powerful, strong, quick and clinical- these are the words the Ghanaian used to describe himself when he was asked the kind of player Manchester City has signed
