Manchester United value Kobbie Mainoo at 160 million pounds

At just 21, Kobbie Mainoo remains one of English football’s most fascinating talents, a player Manchester United value enough to tie down until 2031. Reports from Old Trafford say the Red Devils value the talented midfielder at £ 160 million after seeing how things panned out in the just-ended transfer window.

Born in Stockport to Ghanaian parents, Mainoo has long balanced a dual identity, embracing his Ghanaian heritage while pursuing a boyhood dream of representing England.

That England dream has hit turbulence lately. Despite earning a place in Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man World Cup squad ahead of established names, Mainoo did not make a single appearance throughout the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada, becoming the only recognised England midfielder never to be called off the bench.

Domestically, though, the picture could not look more different. Independent trackers such as FotMob and FootballTransfers currently value him between €52.5 million and €64 million respectively, but Manchester United themselves have previously fielded interest at valuations as high as £100 million, even as reports elsewhere suggested a lower £45 million price tag during a turbulent spell under previous management.

In April 2026, United ended any lingering transfer speculation by handing him a long-term contract through to 2031, a clear signal of intent from a club unwilling to let their academy graduate leave.

His importance to Michael Carrick’s side was on full display this season. After starting on the bench in United’s dismal 2-0 opening-day defeat at Hull City, Mainoo was recalled for the visit of Ipswich Town and produced arguably United’s most complete midfield display, even as Bruno Fernandes stole the headlines with a hat-trick in a 5-2 win.

It is little wonder elite clubs continue to circle. Chelsea, Real Madrid, Napoli and Bayern Munich have all been credited with monitoring his situation.
