Hearts of Oak lifted the Homowo Cup on Sunday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium after defeating Heart of Lions 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.
Phobia’s Ivorian head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara talked about the importance of beaten Heart of Lions in the Homowo Cup on Sunday as it signals something positive for the upcoming season.
“Winning the trophy today against Heart of Lions is the beginning of positive things for the club.”
Hearts of Oak needs confidence and serene environment ahead of the 2024-25 season because the club is still under pressure considering all that have transpired since last season and throughout the transfer window.
Ouattara continued, “I am proud becausee last season [fans] suffered and I think this trophy is just the beginning of the league. Maybe we can see a new-look Hearts of Oak in the league.”
A new Phobia is all that the fans have been yelling for in the upcoming season. Hearts of Oak cannot afford to put up a horrible display in the 2024-25 season so Ouattara’s words will look so refreshing to the fans.
Hearts of Oak will commence the new season with a home fixture against Holy Stars on 6th September at the Accra Sports Stadium.
