Medeama SC left-back Fatawu Hamidu has joined Egyptian Division 2 side, Ghazl El-Mahala SC.

Fatawu Abdul Hamidu, 25, has been an integral member of the Medeama side since joining from Accra Lions in the 2021/22 season. He played 18 league games and scored two goals for the Mauve and Yellow when they won the Ghana Premier League in the 2022-23 season.

Fatawu Hamidu played 19 league games in the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League season. In the CAF Champions League, he played four times for Medeama SC in a group against Al Ahly, Yanga and Belouizdad.

He has won three caps for the Black Stars.

His profile explains the experience he has gained in the top level of African football.

“Medeama SC is pleased to announce the transfer of Fatawu Hamidu to Egyptian side, Ghazl El-Mahalla SC. We wish him the best in his new journey and thank him for his contributions to our club,” the club anmounced.

The details of his contract has neither been disclosed by Medeama nor Fatawu’s entourage.
