Sudan sensationally defeated Ghana 2-0 at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Libya on Tuesday afternoon.

It was all or nothing moment for the Black Stars of Ghana and the Falcons of Jediane of Sudan.

James Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan showed huge intentions to win the three poinst soon after the 6th minute. Ghana was the best of the two teams in the first six minutes as they controlled and dominated the Sudanese. That was the end for Ghana.

Sudan took over from the 7th minute and had three opportunities to destroy Ghana but due to Ati-Zigi’s heroics, Ghana was still alive in the game. The Ghanaian goalkeeper made a crucial save when Al Hlial striker Mohammed Abdelrahman drove the ball for almost 20 yards and released a wonderful shot. Ati-Zigi made a wonderful save to keep the scoreline at goalless..

Sudanese forward Eisa’s beautiful curling was also superbly saved by Ati Zigi. It was all Sudan as their confidence grew and grew and grew.

Ghana had no shot on target before the end of the first half. Danger loomed large because Ghana’s performance in the first half was horrible.

The Black Stars got off to a great start in the second half with Inaki pouncing on Kudus corner to score but it was ruled out for offside.

Sudan returned back to their counter attack with Mohammed Abdelrahman driving over Alidu Seidu in the 62nd minute for Al-Tash to tap into an empty net to give Sudan the lead after Gideon Mensah’s goal line clearance had hit the post.

Mohammed Abdelrahman doubled Sudan’s lead to put the game way beyond Ghana’s reach after zooming past Monaco’s defender Mohammed Salisu and unleashing a beautiful strike that Ati-Zigi had no option to save it.

Black Stars will only qualify to Morocco 2025 if they win their last two games and Sudan losses their last two games.

Ghana has scored only one goal in 5 games. It is very disastrous amd unacceptable for Otto Addo and his men.
