Namibia has ended Visa-Free entry to USA citizens in a bid to stop illegal mining in the country.

Over 500 Americans are mining in the country and have been ordered to leave with immediate effect.

The first female president of Namibia, H.E. Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who was sworn in in March 2025, has announced that U.S. citizens entering Namibia will require a visa henceforth.

US citizens used to enter Namibia freely, but things are about to change since Donald Trump decided to make America look like an enemy to almost every country with his new tariff policies.

“Any U.S. citizen caught without a fully approved visa will be declared an “illegal alien” and treated the same way Donald Trump treats African immigrants in the U.S,” one of the Namibian authorities said.

Per multiple reports from the Southern African nation, there are over 500 U.S. citizens mining diamonds, gold, uranium, copper, and other minerals in Namibia without visas.

These illegal miners have been ordered to leave or will face forced removal by the Namibian government.

Namibia, one of the world’s top diamond producers, is now taking full control of its diamond and other minerals mines.
