According to numerous reports, Hearts of Oak has released 17 players. The main reason why most of the players left was due to the club’s inability to fulfill the players’ financial request.

Hearts of Oak is one of the top three teams in Ghana that pays players very well in the Ghana Premier League but it seems the players aren’t satisfied.

Head coach of the team, Aboubakar Ouattara has told the fans that no player is bigger than the club.

”I want the fans to understand that no player is bigger than the club”, Ouattara fired.

“If a player is well-paid and still wants to leave, it’s their choice. We can’t force them to stay,” continued Ouattara.

”Before me, there were great coaches, and after me, more will come. No individual, whether player or manager, is indispensable to Hearts of Oak.”

”If we allow one person to become bigger than the team, Hearts will suffer. Remember, the club’s is paramount – no player or management member is above it,” added Ouattara.

Accra Hearts of Oak has been struggling in recent seasons to keep their players. The players think they deserve far better, financially, than what they have been receiving.

Ouattara has expressed the need to not idolise any player or Board Member because Hearts of Oak is bigger than any individual.
