Pep Guardiola recently renewed his City contract in November by two years taking him to the summer of 2027. The Spanish tactician has been at Manchester City since 2016, exceeding all expectations, and he will be 11 years at the helm by the time his new two-year deal expires.

Josep Guardiola’s time at City is one filled with immense success. He has so far won 18 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League.

By winning the Premier League title last season, Manchester City became the first men’s team in the history of English football to win four top-flight titles in a row.

The pinnacle of his Manchester City reign was in the 2022-23 season when the Citizens won the treble.

In an interview on the Desmontadito YouTube channel run by Dani Garcia, who is a Spanish chef, the 53-year-old revealed that he would quit coaching club football after his Manchester City reign but hinted at international football management.

“I’m not going to manage another team,” Guardiola said. “I’m not talking about the long-term future, but what I’m not going to do is leave Man City, go to another country, and do the same thing. No, no, no…. I wouldn’t have the energy”…

“The thought of starting somewhere else, all the process of training and so on… No, no, no! Maybe a national team, but that’s different,” the gifted gaffer said.

The manager has already talked about his intention of managing a national team, with many linking him to the Brazillian national team job.

Pep’s immediate aim is to turn Manchester City’s horrible season around. The club has won just one game in the last eight in all competitions and has a huge tie against Juventus in Turin on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League.
