The Minority leader of parliament, Afenyo-Markin, has criticized John Mahama’s led government by asking them what exactly they did in 2025.

In an interview on Channel One TV on Monday, February 16, 2026, the MP for Efutu Constituency did not hide his feelings and dared the NDC to show what they did in 2025.

“Last year, 2025, what did the government do? Did it pay contractors who had worked and borrowed from banks?” Afenyo-Marking asked.

The NPP are of the view that the NDC-led government did not make any real impact in the lives of Ghanaians in their first year at the office.

“If the economy is stagnating and we continue to talk about paper growth, I am interested in the cocoa farmer and the real impact on citizens,” he continued.

Cocoa farmers are extremely unhappy about the government’s reduction of cocoa prices. Afenyo-Markin revealed that he wants to see real financial changes in the lives of cocoa farmers, but not hearing mere figures that have no imkpacyts in the lives of the farmers.

He continued, “I am not here to talk about numbers that have no effect. If the numbers have made a positive impact, I will acknowledge and applaud them. But so far, one year in office, the government has not made any real impact”.

The NDC government has come under scrutiny after the reduction of prices of cocoa where the government announced last week.
