The FIFA Awards for 2024 will be organised on 15th January 2025 in
Zürich, Switzerland, with a mega party expected as usual.

On Friday morning, FIFA released all the nominees for the various categories. Ghana got a nomination with West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus being nominated for the 2024 Puskas Award (Best Goal of the Year).

In the 2023-24 Europa League, West Ham United beat German side Freiburg home and away in the group stage before smashing them into pieces in the round 16th stage of the knockout phase.

Freiburg narrowly pipped West Ham United 1-0 in the first leg in Germany. In the second leg, the Hammers needed to win massively and subsequently pulverised Freiburg at the London Stadium by 5-0 with Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus scoring a goal that no West Ham fan will ever forget.

The Hammers were leading by 3-0 before Kudus scored in the 77th and 85th minutes to make it 5-0.

West Ham’s 4th goal of the night was so sensational. Star Boy picked the ball in the middle of West Ham’s half and dribbled incredibly past three Freiburg defenders before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Noah Atubolu with his weaker foot.

Incredibly, it is the first goal scored by anyone in the Europa League to be ever nominated for the Puskas Award.
