Ghanaian rap heavyweight Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has once again etched his name into music history after selling out London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall ahead of the Rapperholic UK concert scheduled for March 6, 2026.

The sell-out, confirmed weeks before the show, marks a significant milestone not only in Sarkodie’s career but also in the global recognition of Ghanaian and African hip-hop.

The Royal Albert Hall, one of the world’s most prestigious performance venues with a seating capacity of about 5,272, has hosted legendary musicians across genres for more than a century.

Filling the venue is widely regarded within the global music industry as a benchmark of artistic relevance and international appeal, given its acoustics, discerning audience and historical status.

Sarkodie’s ability to sell out the hall underscores the growing appetite for African music beyond the continent and positions him among a select group of African artists to achieve such a feat.

The London concert forms part of the Rapperholic brand, a flagship live music experience that began over a decade ago as an annual Christmas concert at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Over the years, Rapperholic has evolved from a local end-of-year show into a dominant hip-hop platform, showcasing top-tier production, live instrumentation and collaborations with leading African and international acts.

The expansion of the brand to international stages reflects Sarkodie’s steady rise from local rap battles to continental dominance and now global relevance.

The choice of March 6 for the UK edition adds symbolic weight to the event.

The date coincides with the Independence Day, turning the concert into more than an entertainment spectacle.
