Many fans also tip Barcelona’s teenager Lamine Yamal to win the award because of the exceptional season he had. A former Barcelona midfielder who currently plays for Inter Miami in the USA has thrown his support behind the French star Dembele to lift the award.
“I hope Ousmane Dembele will win the Ballon d’Or. He has been much better than the others this year and more consistent. There are also players from Barça who deserve it too, but I don’t know what those who vote will decide. May the best win,” Busquets said.
Dembele, Yamal and Raphinha are the leading candidates for the trophy. Stars like Hakimi, Mbappe and Salah will fancy their chances due to the seasons they had.
