Veteran broadcaster and entertainment personality, Andrew Amoh, popularly known as Andy Dosty, has disclosed that dancehall artiste Shatta Wale once expressed strong interest in signing King Paluta to his label.

According to Andy Dosty, this interest was sparked by King Paluta’s impressive performance on their 2020 collaboration, “Ahodwo Las Vegas.”

“I remember I would spend about an hour with Shatta Wale talking about King Paluta, how to shape his career and the kind of money we needed,” Andy Dosty revealed during an appearance on the Asetena Pa Podcast hosted by Akoto Mansa on YouTube.

“The person who wanted to sign King Paluta was Shatta Wale. He really wanted to sign King Paluta; at the time, he had not blown, and nobody knew him,” he added.

Andy Dosty recounted how he personally engaged in multiple in-depth conversations with Shatta Wale, discussing strategies to develop King Paluta’s brand.

Despite a strained personal relationship with Shatta Wale, Andy Dosty played a crucial role in facilitating their subsequent collaboration on the track “Adiepena.”

Interestingly, King Paluta was unaware of the discussions being held about his future at the time.

Despite the signing never materializing, Andy Dosty’s revelations offer a glimpse into the early belief that industry heavyweights like Shatta Wale had in King Paluta’s talent – even before his rise to fame.

King Paluta has since become a household name, enjoying massive success with a string of hit songs and memorable stage performances.

His unique rap style and lyrical dexterity have earned him widespread acclaim, and he is now considered a frontrunner for the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

As the music industry continues to evolve, Andy Dosty’s revelation highlights the importance of recognizing and nurturing emerging talent.

With King Paluta’s current dominance in the local music scene, it’s clear that his talent and dedication have paid off, and he remains a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
