20-year-old Italian-born Enoch Owusu got injured in the Swiss Cup on Saturday.

FC St. Gallen, leaders of the Swiss Super League, now must look for a plan without their young forward born to Ghanaian parents in Bergamo.

The 20-year-old sustained a thigh injury during the Swiss Cup derby against Wil and had to leave the game after only ten minutes.

Medical professionals have identified tendon damage that will need to be addressed with surgery in the next few days.

He is anticipated to be out of action for a few months. Owusu became a permanent member of the senior team this summer after playing with the U21S and has already participated in five league matches this season.

His absence is a significant setback for head coach Enno Maassen, who will need to seek other options for the attack.

The young right winger has played for Inter Milan’s U17, U19, and U20. He permanently joined St. Gallen in the 2025 summer transfer Window after enjoying a successful loan spell in their academy.
