Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape, adding to the serious allegations he already faces.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that the new charges stem from a separate report of non-recent offences dating back to 2020, involving another woman.
These allegations were first reported in August 2025, following a fresh investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
Partey, who now plays for Villarreal in Spain, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13 in relation to the new charges.
The Ghanaian international had previously pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault at Southwark Crown Court in September 2025.
Those alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022, while he was a regular starter for Arsenal in the Premier League.
He was charged just days after leaving the club in June 2025, when his contract expired. Despite the mounting legal proceedings, Partey remains on bail and continues to play professionally in Spain.
The latest developments intensify the scrutiny surrounding Partey, who has consistently denied all allegations against him.
His trial on the earlier charges is scheduled for November 2, 2026, meaning he now faces multiple legal battles in the months ahead.
The conditions of his bail allow him to continue playing football, though he must notify police of any travel plans. The case has drawn significant attention both in the UK and Ghana, given his status as a high-profile international player.
