Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey was not part of Mikel Arteta’s squad that made the short trip to the London Stadium to face the Hammers.
Thomas Partey and Mikel Merino, who are a key part of Arteta’s setup, did not travel with the team on Saturday night due to injuries.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta revealed ahead of the clash, “Mikel Merino (knee issue) and Thomas Partey (muscle issue) both miss out on tonight’s fixture”.
It was rumoured earlier on Saturday morning that Partey and Merino would not be available in the London derby, and Arteta confirmed it.
In the absence of the two, Mikel Arteta started Jorginho, Declan Rice and skipper Martin Odegaard as the midfielder for Arsenal in their 5-2 pulverising of West Ham United.
