Manchester United has reached an agreement to transfer Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea for £40 million, along with a 10% sell-on fee.

The 21-year-old Argentine player has been training separately from the main team since the beginning of the summer due to issues with head coach Ruben Amorim.

Chelsea is reported to have made an initial offer of £25 million before the agreement on the final fixed fee.

This will be the most valuable player sale for United in five years and the fourth most valuable sale in the club’s history.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, and Angel Di María have transferred from United for a greater fee.

United considers the deal a positive move because the winger wants to leave.

Garnacho scored 26 goals in 144 matches for United after joining the academy from Atlético Madrid in 2020 for approximately £400,000.
