He has finally been confirmed as a Manchester City player since the clubs locked in negotiations over the Egyptian forward.

Negotiations commenced the moment the January transfer window was opened. The clubs reached an agreement after two weeks of negotiations and Manchester City has gotten their man after the Frankfurt forward passed his medicals on Tuesday.

Manchester City are paying £63.2m for the 25-year-old forward who joined Frankfurt as a free agent from Wolfsburg in 2023.

Marmoush becomes Manchester City’s third signing of the January transfer window after securing the signatures of young Brazilian defender Vitor Reus (£29.4m) from Palmeiras and Abdukodir Khusanov (£33.5m) of Uzbekistan from French side Lens. A combined fee of £126.M has been spent thus far by the English champions.

Pep Guardiola’s side is also interested in signing Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz from Juventus on loan until the season ends, but the Old Ladies of Italian football wants the £45M they paid to Aston Villa in the 2024 summer for the midfielder.

Manchester City’s announcement

“Manchester City are delighted to announce the signing of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 25-year-old Egyptian striker has completed a move to the Etihad Stadium on a four-and-a-half-year deal, meaning he will remain at the Club until the summer of 2029.

One of the most coveted young forwards operating in the European game, Marmoush is also capable of being deployed on either attacking flank.

An accomplished Egyptian international with 35 caps to his name to date, Marmoush made his professional bow back in his Egyptian homeland as a 17-year-old in 2016 with Wadi Degla.

What Marmoush said during his unveiling

“I’m here & I’m ready.

“It’s an absolute dream come true to join such an iconic team.

“Let’s make history together,” Marmoush said.
