Two young women who are yet to be identified have been burnt beyond recognition in a ghastly accident at East Legon.
Three others including the drivers of a Jaguar and Artura vehicles have also sustained various degrees of injuries and battling for their lives.
The unfortunate incident occurred in a head-on collision in the late afternoon of Saturday.
Assistant Division Officer(ADO) Alex King Nartey from the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana National Fire Service(GNFS) confirmed the incident in an interview on Adom FM.
ADO Nartey said one of the bodies have been retrieved with firefighters working to extricate the other body which has been trapped.
He said the deceased were in the Artura vehicle.
According to him, preliminary investigation has established that the accident was due to over speeding.
ADO Nartey further revealed that, one of the vehicles crashed into a wooden electric pole whose cables fell off which reportedly caused the fire.
