A tragic incident has rocked the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), following the reported suicide of a Level 100 student identified by his social media nickname, Khon Void.
The young man, whose real name has yet to be officially confirmed, was studying Art Education and was affiliated with GUSSS Hall One.
According to multiple eyewitness accounts and social media posts, the student allegedly took his own life by hanging after discovering his girlfriend in bed with another man.
The incident reportedly took place at GUSSS Hall Two, a student hostel within the university campus.
Students who were present during the ordeal claim that the emotional distress was immediate and intense.
The young man is said to have fainted upon witnessing the encounter, and only regained consciousness after fellow students intervened.
However, less than 24 hours later, he was found dead by hanging in what is now being treated as a suicide.
The deceased’s brother, who uses the social media handle @ConcraGH on X (formerly Twitter), publicly confirmed the heartbreaking news, lending credibility to the wave of reports circulating online.
His posts have drawn widespread sympathy and sparked a national conversation about mental health, love, and emotional resilience among the youth.
What has shocked many in the community is that the student hailed from a financially stable background, raising questions about the depth of emotional trauma that can override material comfort.
The young woman allegedly involved in the incident has reportedly been arrested and is assisting police with investigations.
In the wake of the tragedy, tributes have poured in from classmates, hall mates, and the broader UEW student community.
Videos and photos of Khon Void have surfaced on social media, showing him as a vibrant, expressive student with a promising future—now abruptly cut short.
The Ghana Police Service has yet to release an official report, but investigations are ongoing.
