31-year-old London rapper, singer and songwriter, Stormzy, has been banned for 9 months from driving after being caught using a mobile phone while driving his Rolls-Royce.

Andrew Sweet, the District Judge, handed the rapper the ban after he had pleaded guilty via a letter to driving while using the device in West Kensington on March 7 2024.

The judge, sitting at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, also fined him £2,010 ($2,498) after six more points had been added to his license.

“Owuo’s driving record is “not good”, Sweet said. He described Stormzy’s driving as “dangerous and irresponsible”.

Born Micheal Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Junior to a Ghanaian mother in Croydon, the famous rapper already had 6 points on his license due to a previous driving offence.

In the UK, drivers can be disqualified if they build up 12 or more penalty points within a period of three years.

The musician cum actor is well known for songs like ‘Blinded by Your Grace, Vossi Bop, Own It, Audacity, and Problems Over Peace’ among so many other hit tracks.
