He said the deceased include two men, one of whom was the driver’s mate, and a woman who was the mother of the children on board.

DO2 Anthony Rhule said the passengers were traveling to Cape Coast to witness the ongoing Fetu Festival.

“One of the passengers said the driver was over speeding which caused the accident” he said.

DO2 Anthony Rhule also advised drivers to reduce their speed on the highway and use road signs to help reduce accidents on the stretch.

“I will advise drivers, your over speeding on this stretch from Winneba Junction to Apam towards Cape Coast is too much so I will plead with them to reduce their speed and also obey traffic regulations on the highway,” he said.
