Two male students of Nalerigu SHS have been shot and killed in the North East Region following a violent attack by unidentified gunmen on Saturday evening, 26th July, 2025.
The victims, identified only by their first names, Lukman and Gideon, were reportedly in their dormitory when the assailants stormed the school premises and opened fire, killing them instantly.
It is unclear what triggered the incident; however, sources say it could be linked to the Bawku conflict.
In a related development, another student was also killed at the Bawku SHS the same night by gunmen.
It is reported that the attackers jumped the school’s wall, entered the dormitory and forcibly dragged the student outside before shooting him in what appeared to be a targeted attack.
The shocking incident has left the school community and residents in deep distress.
The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the incident.
