A 57-year-old man named Sarpong is accused of killing his wife after she requested a portion of their cocoa farm in Gyametanhunu, a farming community located in the Ashanti Region.
Reports indicate that Sarpong fathered a child with another woman while he was married.
The deceased, who had four children before marrying Sarpong, was unhappy upon learning about the situation.
It is reported that she requested a share of their farm before permitting the other woman to enter their home.
According to sources, the couple had not been seen at their residence for several days, which led a neighbour to inform the local Assemblyman about their absence.
A few days later, a foul smell came from their room, which caused the local Assemblyman to inform the police about the situation.
When the police arrived, they were able to enter the room and discovered the body of a 55-year-old woman lying in a pool of blood, showing signs of decomposition. The suspect is currently evading capture.
