Many thought Arsenal was going to run away easily with the title by the end of April after Manchester City showed so many inconsistencies at the beginning of the campaign.

The Gunners at some point had 11 points lead, but it has been reduced to only two after week 27.

Manchester City secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night to pile much pressure on the league leaders Arsenal, who visit perennial rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon in the North London Derby.

A brace from the impressive Nico O’Reilly in the first half ensured all three points for the Citizens given Pep Guardiola a good night as he promised many twists and turns in the final 11 games of the season.

“I promise you, many things are going to happen. I have a feeling that we won’t win every game this season because of the Champions League and cups,” said Guardiola. Both clubs are in all competitions as they will face each other in the Carabao Cup finals, which could kickstart an intense rivalry. Manchester City will host Arsenal in April in the league, with the game having the potential to decide the winner of the EPL title.

Pep added, “The best way is to relax, drink lots of caipirinhas and daiquiris in these three days and then make proper sessions and go to Leeds. Otherwise, it can slap you in the face.” Pep urged his guys to go home, enjoy life, because they will be in for a massive competition starting with a trip to Leeds next weekend.
