Medeama SC kicked off their 2026-27 GPL campaign with a draw at Vision FC in Tema, with Alhassan Zaidan’s 9th minute striker putting the home side in front. Kingsley Braye restored parity with only two minutes played into the second half. Both sides failed to score the winner after missing glorious opportunities as the game ended in a 1-1 draw, helping both sides to record four points in nine in the early stages of the season.

Heart of Lions’ winless run continued after a dull goalless draw at Kpando against Sweduru All Blacks. Lions’ attack has scored only one goal in 240 minutes, and tension will start to build around the team if they do not improve. All Blacks of Sweduru sit 9th on the log after securing a crucial one point away.

The Nsenkyire Park in Samraboi was ready to witness a cracker, and the venue got what it craved. After a tense 74 minutes of feisty battle, Asante Kotoko opened the scoring in the 75th minute with Emmanuel Mamah, the former player for the Timber Giants, scoring to silence his old stomping grounds. However, Christian Agyenim Boateng breathed life into the Porcupine Warriors’ fans by equalising in the 83rd minute for the hosts. Both sides were delighted to secure a draw with 1-1 draw.

Samuel Boadu will have a peaceful Sunday evening after his side secured their first win of the campaign. Aduana Stars, ahead of week 3’s fixture at the Nana Agyeman Badu, had drawn and lost against Heart of Lions and Samartex respectively, so a defeat against Karela could have led to pandemonium around the team. Stephen Amankona’s 36th minute penalty gave the Ogya Boys a deserved lead in the first half. Nyaba Mahfuz in the 56th minute equalised for the visitors. Dormaa-Ahenkro was quiet Shawkan Mohammed scored deep in additional time (97th) to give Aduana Stars the victory.

Bibiani Gold Stars returned to winning ways with an impressive 3-2 win away to 10-man Dreams FC. After two successive defeats, Gold Stars were determined to beat Dreams and perfectly did it. Razak Salifu in the 5th minute put Dreams ahead. Yaovi Guede was sent off in the 40th minute, putting Dreams FC in a tight corner. In the second half, Bibiani Gold Stars took the numerical advantage and levelled the score with Michael Nkoah’s 69th-minute strike. Mohammed Shaban surprisingly restored the 10-man Dreams FC’s lead four minutes later. Adomako in the 81st minute made it 2-2, with Bernard Kesse breaking the Still Believe’s heart. The 3-2 win for Gold Stars is the beginning of something new, per their officials.

Port City beat Berekum Chelsea 2-1 to remain unbeaten at home. A brace from veteran striker Francis Gyetuah, formerly of Samartex, shot down Chelsea of Berekum at Daasebre Boamah Darko II Park in Akim Kukurantumi.

Basake Holy Stars secured an important 1-0 win against Ashgold, handing Oboa Kese their first defeat of the season. Hudson Joseph’s 35th minute strike made the difference.

Hearst of Oak failed to make it three wins out of three by playing a goalless draw against Bechem United at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in front of parked Phobia fans clad in the famous rainbow colours. The draw was disappointing considering how the club has started the season with two consecutive wins. Nevertheless, Phobia sits on top of the table with seven points, having scored one more and conceded one less than second-placed Samartex SC.

Debibi United and Young Apostles match was postponed due to heavy rainfall, which made the pitch unplayable.
