At the EXCO meeting by CAF, the governing body confirmed Ghana’s interest in hosting the next edition of AFCON U20.

The biennial International youth football tournamnet organised by CAF for male footballers under the age of 20 has been competed since 1979.

Ghana and South Africa have shown huge interest in hosting the 2027 tournamnet, according to CAF.

The 25th edition of the African U20 championship will be hosted by Ivory Coast with host for the 26th edition to be confirmed by CAF sooner than later.

CAF will set a date to send a team to conduct an inspection on infrastructures in South Africa and Ghana to decide who really qualifes.

South Africa has also bid to host the CAF Women’s Champions League and was discussed at the EXCO meeting on Tuesday.

Women’s CAF Champions League have been played in three different countries since its inception in 2021.

The first edition was hosted by Egypt, Morocco hosted second edition with the third been played in Ivory Coast. Morocco staged the 2024 version with South Africa showing interest in the 2025 edition.
