Asante Kotoko Regional NCC Chairman, Alexander Manu has warned the Porcupine Warriors fans to stop paying money to unauthorized consortium for the USA trip.

An agreement was reached between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko ahead of the Democracy Cup that whoever wins will play against MLS side DC United.

Asante Kotoko won 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium to win the ticket to travel to the USA for the DC United game.

Kotoko’s win in the Democracy Cup was a fitting tribute to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ghana’s Fourth Republic.

Alexander Manu on AP Sports said,
“I like transparency and truthfulness. Before we played Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup, we reached an agreement that whoever wins will play against DC United.

“Ghanaian fans barely travel outside the country to watch their teams play aside Black Stars so it is a very nice opportunity for our fans.

“We haven’t even reached an agreement yet but some people have started taking money from the fans assuring them of helping them get visa to follow Kumasi Asante Kotoko to the USA.

“Someone approached me at Tarkwa and he said he’s in charge of the supporters organization to US. I was surprised.

“I told him that until IMC gives us the go ahead, we will not inform any fan to pay money to anyone,” added Alex Manu, Asante Kotoko’s NCC chairman.

It is getting interesting as some people have started frauding Fabulous fans even though negotiations have not been concluded.

The chairman warned all fans to desist from paying even a pesewa to anyone because they have not been authorized to mobilize fans for the trip.
